Letter From Our President
Dear Loyal Season Ticket Member,
This has been an incredible season of Saint John Sea Dogs hockey. Our goal this year – with your support – was to compete for a third QMJHL President Cup in franchise history, and a berth in the MasterCard Memorial Cup. Through the hard work and dedication of our team, on and off the ice, we won our fourth regular season championship and are now deep in a playoff semifinal series. We are honoured and proud to be one of four clubs left standing in the QMJHL this season.
In my first full season with the Sea Dogs, I have seen the passion, pride and commitment of our fans towards our team. Your energy and enthusiasm has been the fuel that has driven us all season long to be the best team in the QMJHL. The players, coaches, hockey operations staff, front office and management – we see it daily.
Our vision is to become the model organization in the Canadian Hockey League. We will continue to work tirelessly and be relentless in our pursuit. Our vision has lead us to take on a number of new challenges, innovate, and pursue improvements in a variety of important areas. Change is not easy and its benefits are not always obvious, but you have embraced it and have played a critical role in the evolution of our organization. We will be counting on your same open mindedness and enthusiasm as we continue to take risks and challenge ourselves in reaching our vision.
This past season, we updated our products and services to provide you with the most enjoyable experience as a Season Ticket Member. We added new benefits, like our $35 Kids Pass add-on, created the CHL’s first Alpine Ice Bar, and enhanced our game-day operations with a live DJ, more graphics and player videos to offer a unique game night experience. You, our most loyal fans, responded with our regular season attendance rising by nearly five hundred to 4,200 fans per game, third-highest in the
On the ice, we believe very strongly in our players, many of whom returned to the team from last season. We made a few additions during the league’s Christmas trade period to secure key components with championship and MasterCard Memorial Cup experience, including Julien Gauthier, Simon Bourque and Callum Booth. In all this season, we had four players participate in the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, several others who competed at various international events, and a league-high eleven players drafted and/or signed by NHL teams.
Thank you for your continued support of the Saint John Sea Dogs and the role you play in the club’s success. We look forward to having you return next season as a valuable Season Ticket Member as we work together to bring another championship to Saint John.
